Diemen’s

Diemen’s was born in 2013 when four friends, with a passion for heat and professional backgrounds in food, sales, marketing & advertising, decided to create their own range of hot sauces.

Diemen’s became Australia’s native sauce company, fired by locally-grown chilies and Tasmania’s mountain pepper berry. Grown in the pristine, cool rainforests of Southern Tasmania, the pepper berry gives Diemen’s products a distinctive fruity flavour with hints of Aussie bush.

Together with this key ingredient we created an Original and a Stinger Hot Sauce, a Tomato Ketchup with 100% Aussie grown tomatoes, and a Smokin’ Barbecue with naturally smoked salt.

At the time, the Australian food category was rapidly expanding into exotic flavours and cuisines both in the home and across new restaurants, bars and cafes. The Diemen’s team saw an opportunity to enter the condiments category, leveraging their international food experience, but with a uniquely Australian proposition.

As co-founders in the venture, R+R were charged with getting more people to enjoy more Diemen’s more often. New product development and partner co-labs, food service and retail sales management, eCommerce, local and global distribution strategies, customer trade promotions and consumer marketing plans all contributed to building the Diemen’s business and ultimate brand equity.
